My wife Patty, the CFO, and our Lawyers discovered that the buyers Lawyers had made last minute changes to the purchase documents without informing us. That very morning we received a contract from IBM that could be worth more than $30 million. Events were moving fast. The merger hung in the balance. If I went through with it, I would have accomplished a lifelong goal, if not then all bets were off. I would use all my life experience to make this decision, a lifetime that spanned 42 1/2 years at this point, July 14, 1995.
